PRE DESIGN FILE SETUP
In order to maximize the quality of the printing, we request that all files be designed with the following setup.
- 300 Pixels/Inch
- CMYK colour mode
- If your file is Black and White save it as GREYSCALE
Adobe Photoshop Setup.
ACCEPTED FILE TYPES
We accept only ADOBE .PDF files as the final source file for uploading. Please make sure to NOT save your .PDF’s with layers,
as this will increase the file size dramatically, and could result in an inconsistent print job.
FILE SIZES, BLEEDS AND ACTIVE SAFE ZONES
“Bleed” is the term for printing that goes right to the edge of the paper. If want to have coloured backgrounds or images continue to the edge of the print job they must continue past the trim marks to the full bleed margin. If they do not continue to the full bleed margin you most likely will end up with white strips along the edge of the product due to the cutting process. The file size with bleeds will be 0.25″ larger than the final cut size in both dimensions. So if you are designing an 8.5 x 4.5 flyer the size of your design file would be 8.75 x 4.75.
The bleed is 0.25″ for all flyers, brochures, business cards and postcards.
Printed pieces that have a white border or white around the edges, DO NOT bleed.
The active safe zone is a border that is 0.25 inches smaller than the final print size. This is where you can place all your text and important images. Anything placed outside this border is at the risk of being cut off or folded.
